My paintings are representational, but there is an underlying geometery which creates strong formal relationships within the work drawing the viewer into the image.
The landscapes are of the Cornish moors and were developed from sketches and paintings made there during the autumn when the colours are rich and vibrant.
Solid simplified forms are combined with built up layers and dramatic perspective in these paintings to emphasise the monumental structures of the city.
The geometric forms of the beach huts and their shadows give these paintings a strong visual dynamic which is enhanced by the clear coastal light.
